Ernie and David Ilsley were raised in the heart of the Stags Leap District, farming alongside their father and grandfather. The brothers have contributed to and influenced some of the most sought-after estates in the valley, including Shafer, Gamble, Kapcsandy and Quixote wineries.
Farming hillside vineyards in the valley for most of their life makes them perfectly suited to oversee the demands of the prestigious Nicalli Vineyard. The rocky and rugged vineyard has 12 amazing blocks which all have unique soils and requires different management for each site. The brothers hands on approach allows each area to maximize its greatest potential.
The Ilsley family started farming in the Napa Valley in 1954. Today they farm and produce wine from their family SLD estate as well as manage over 200 acres for many boutique wineries in the area. The Ilsleys are extremely proud to be working along side the Lindstrom family and Celia Welch to help produce the Lindstrom wines.
